Tom L. Ward
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Ward has served as our Chairman and Chief Executive Officer since June 2006 and has served as our President from December 2006 to January 2011. Prior to joining SandRidge, he served as President, Chief Operating Officer and a director of Chesapeake Energy Corporation from the time he co-founded the company in 1989 until February 2006. From February 2006 until June 2006, Mr. Ward managed his private investments. Mr. Ward graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Petroleum Land Management. He is also a member of the Economic Advisory Council of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City.
James D. Bennett
President and Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Bennett has served as our Chief Financial Officer since January 2011 and was promoted to President in March 2013. From 2010 until he joined the Company, he was Managing Director for White Deer Energy, a private equity fund focused on the exploration and production, oilfield service and equipment, and midstream sectors of the oil and gas industry. From 2006 to December 2009, Mr. Bennett was employed by GSO Capital Partners L.P. where he served in various capacities, including as its Managing Director. Mr. Bennett graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in Finance from Texas Tech University in 1993. Mr. Bennett has served on the board of directors of the general partner of Cheniere Energy Partners L.P. and PostRock Energy Corporation.
David C. Lawler
Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Lawler joined us as Executive Vice President of Operations in August 2011 and was named Chief Operating Officer in April 2013. Prior to joining SandRidge, Mr. Lawler served as Chief Executive Officer and President of PostRock Energy Corporation and its predecessor entities since August 2008. Prior to his role as Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Lawler served as Chief Operating Officer of PostRock’s predecessor entities from May 2007 through August 2008. Prior to joining PostRock, Mr. Lawler was employed by Shell Exploration & Production Company from May 1997 to May 2007 in roles of increasing responsibility, most recently as Engineering and Operations Manager for multiple assets along the U.S. Gulf Coast. Mr. Lawler graduated from the Colorado School of Mines with a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering and earned his Masters of Business Administration from Tulane University.
Wayne C. Chang
Senior Vice President – SandRidge Energy, Inc.
President – SandRidge Midstream, Inc.
Mr. Chang joined us as Vice President of Midstream in February 2007 and was promoted to Senior Vice President of Midstream in January 2009. Mr. Chang has also served as President of SandRidge Midstream, Inc. since October 20, 2007. Over the past twenty-six years, Mr. Chang has worked for diversified oil and gas companies such as ConocoPhillips and Chesapeake Energy Corporation. His work experiences have been focused within the midstream sector, having held management positions in engineering, construction, operations and business development. Prior to his arrival at SandRidge, Mr. Chang was the Director of Producer Services for Enogex, Inc., the largest gas gatherer and intrastate transporter of gas in the State of Oklahoma. Mr. Chang graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering.
Randall D. Cooley
Senior Vice President – Accounting
Mr. Cooley joined us as Vice President of Accounting in November 2006, upon acquisition of NEG Oil & Gas LLC and was promoted to Senior Vice President of Accounting in January 2008. Prior to joining SandRidge, Mr. Cooley served as the senior financial officer with National Energy Group, Inc., having held the position of Vice President and Chief Financial Officer from March 2003 to November 2006. Mr. Cooley earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a major in Accounting, from the University of Southern Mississippi and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Gregory T. Dewey
Senior Vice President – Communications and Community Relations
Mr. Dewey joined SandRidge in January 2011 and was promoted to Vice President of Communications and Community Relations in June 2011. He was subsequently promoted to Senior Vice President of Communications and Community Relations in December 2012. Mr. Dewey is responsible for advertising, corporate identity, internal and external communications (excluding investor relations), corporate giving and community service, and employee engagement in community relations. Prior to working at SandRidge, Mr. Dewey served on the faculty of Skyline Church in Oklahoma City and the University of Tulsa. He graduated from Anderson University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications Education.
Lance Galvin
Senior Vice President – Corporate Reservoir Engineering
Lance Galvin, Senior Vice President of Corporate Reservoir Engineering, joined SandRidge in August 2011 as Reservoir Engineering Manager and was promoted to Vice President in January 2012. Galvin has 32 years of industry experience focused on reservoir engineering and asset management. Prior to joining SandRidge, he worked for PostRock Energy from 2009 to 2011, serving in several vice president positions. Prior to that, he served as Chief Operating Officer for privately-held Windsor Energy from 2008 to 2009. His experience also includes working as a consulting petroleum engineer for Pinnacle Energy Services, LLC for five years. Galvin began his career in the oil and gas industry in 1980 with Marathon Oil Company where he held various positions of increasing responsibilities in engineering and management in domestic and international locations. Galvin graduated from Colorado School of Mines with a Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering and is a Registered Professional Engineer in the state of Oklahoma.
Craig A. Johnson
Senior Vice President – Development
Mr. Johnson joined us as Vice President of Western Operations in July 2007 and was promoted to Senior Vice President of Operations in July 2011. Prior to joining SandRidge, Mr. Johnson was Operations Manager for the Eastern Division of Samson Resources, having also served in various engineering and asset management positions in the Gulf Coast, Mid-Continent and Eastern regions. Mr. Johnson graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering.
Philip Warman
Senior Vice President – General Counsel and Corporate Secretary
Mr. Warman joined us as Senior Vice President and General Counsel in August 2010. He also serves as our Corporate Secretary. Prior to joining SandRidge, Mr. Warman was the Associate General Counsel for SEC and finance matters for Spectra Energy Corporation from January 2007 through July 2010. From 1998 through 2006, he practiced law as a corporate finance attorney with Vinson & Elkins, LLP in Houston, Texas. Mr. Warman earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Houston and graduated from the University of Texas School of Law.
Kevin R. White
Senior Vice President – Business Development
Mr. White joined us as Senior Vice President of Business Development in January 2008. Prior to joining SandRidge, he worked for six years as a consultant in the oil and gas industry. Mr. White served as Executive Vice President of Corporate Development and Strategic Planning for Louis Dreyfus Natural Gas Corp. from 1993 until the company was sold in 2001. He attended Oklahoma State University, receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a Masters of Science degree in Accounting and his Certified Public Accountant qualification.
Mary L. Whitson
Senior Vice President – Corporate and Human Resources
Ms. Whitson has served as our Senior Vice President – Corporate and Human Resources since June 2011, and had previously served as our Senior Vice President – Human Resources since September 2006. Ms. Whitson was the Vice President – Human Resources for Chesapeake Energy Corporation through August 2006, where she held human resources management positions of increasing responsibility for more than eight years. Certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), she attended Oklahoma State University and received a Bachelor of Science in General Studies from the University of Central Oklahoma.
