SandRidge Teams Up with OKC Thunder to Provide New Shoes to Students at Dunbar Elementary

SandRidge Energy and the OKC Thunder teamed up once again to bring a little holiday cheer to the students at Dunbar Elementary. Rumble the Bison joined forces with Santa Claus to kick off the second annual Shoe Party on Thursday, December 18. Members of the Thunder Girls dance team provided entertainment and assisted SandRidge employees as they fit each student at Dunbar with a brand new pair of Nike athletic shoes. Some of the students were even fitted by Thunder players Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, and Nick Collison. The shoes were purchased at a significant discount from Baptist’s Athletic Supply in Shawnee with funds raised by SandRidge employees. Along with the shoes, each student took home a stocking full of goodies, a soccer ball and memories that will last a lifetime! Thank you to everyone who participated in making this another wonderful event.

Third Annual SandRidge Santa Run a Huge Success

The 2009 SandRidge Santa Run was held on Saturday, December 5 and was once again a huge success. Both the 5K and the 1-Mile Fun Run grew significantly in numbers with over 1,000 runners and walkers participating in this year's event. The event raised more than $10,000 for the Oklahoma City Police Athletic League. SandRidge sponsored 350 students and parents from Dunbar, Columbus and Capitol Hill Elementary Schools, and the OU Health Sciences Center hosted a fun and informative youth fitness fair. The Thunder Girls and Rumble led the student warm-up and stretching exercise before the 1-Mile Fun Run, and Rumble joined the Fun Run on his Segway!

Elementary Students Design SandRidge Holiday Cards

The votes are in and the winners have been chosen for the 2009 SandRidge corporate holiday card coloring contest. Dominic Timmons – a Kindergarten student at Dunbar Elementary – created the winning card in Oklahoma City, and Rebecca McMillon – a third-grade student at Apache Elementary – created the winning card in Fort Stockton. All of the participating students were presented with prizes in recognition of their creative holiday entries. The two winning cards will be used as the official 2009 SandRidge corporate cards this holiday season.
