West Texas
Our primary operational focus is the West Texas Overthrust (WTO), an area located in Pecos and Terrell counties in West Texas. SandRidge Energy, Inc. is by far, the dominant player in this area, drilling and completing more wells in the WTO than all other area operators combined. Company owned pipelines transport and plants process SandRidge gas and separate methane from CO2. SandRidge is the only organization in the area that gathers CO2.
The Piñon Field, discovered in 1983, is our most significant producing field. Located along the leading edge of the WTO, the complex geologic structure allows multiple completions for every well drilled. Targets include the Wolfcamp and Tesnus sands and the Upper and Lower Caballos chert.
East Texas
Texas Gulf Coast
In the Texas Gulf Coast, our main targets are Wilcox and Vicksburg. A geologically complex area, drilling here carries with it higher risk, but also a higher potential per well than those in our other areas.
